What Happened Across The Midweek National League Action?

By Sam Elliott

One league leader powered on last night - but another can now feel the chasing pack breathing down their necks.

National League table toppers Barrow’s advantage now stands at seven points after edging past Dover Athletic.

It needed a Dior Angus goal 17 minutes from time in the much delayed game at Holker Street and Ian Evatt’s side are back to winning ways.

Second-place Harrogate Town returned home frustrated after their game with Barnet was abandoned. The score when the referee called an end to the contest was 1-1.

A huge result in the National League blows things wide up at the top.

Simon Grand’s dramatic winner gave Chester a fine 3-2 victory over King’s Lynn - the first time the leaders have lost back-to-back games all season.

Lynn twice lead through Ross Barrows and then Chris Henderson but Grand sent the home fans wild - and possibly his team back into the title race in the process.

Conor Branson got the all-important goal as Alfreton won at home again, seeing off Leamington 1-0.

Southport rescued a point at stuttering Brackley with Jack Doyle in the right place to make it 1-1 in the second half.

Oxford City love hosting the National League South promotion chasers - Dorking Wanderers were added to their list of high profile home scalps.

Sam Pearson put the seal on another good Bath City away day.

He added to an early Frankie Artus strike at Maidstone United, who missed the chance to close the gap on the play-off places after the Romans’ 2-0 success at the Gallagher Stadium.
