We’ve Not Made A Strong Enough Start: Hinshelwood

York City manager Adam Hinshelwood watched his team lose for the first time on Monday and then said: our start just isn’t good enough.

The Minstermen were undefeated before the Bank Holiday visit of Boston United and were in bullish mood.

But the Pilgrims put in a big performance and came away with a 2-0 victory and Hinshelwood says they deserved to win by more.

He refused to sugar coat the display and isn’t happy about their points return. The unhappy York boss said: “It’s a bang average start now.

“Eight points from five games is not good enough, it’s not the standard that we want to set.

"It’s a reality check and is hopefully a big slap across the face for one or two, to not be complacent,” he told the York Press.

“We didn’t deliver on Saturday and we haven’t delivered today. You can’t afford to have an off day in this league or you’ll be punished, and that’s what’s happened.”

York look to put that right this weekend when they travel to Dagenham & Redbridge.
