The Iron are all-but relegated having spent just one season back in the National League’s top flight following promotion via the play-offs.
It’s not gone as planned but Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat to Harrogate drew an angry response from the manager.
But despite battling against the odds all season the club’s players won’t just be allowed to limp into the close season.
“The players have let everyone down and some have stood up in the dressing room afterwards and openly admitted it," he said on the club’s website.
"You cannot give cheap goals away, which they did today, at any level of the game and we certainly paid the price in this match.
"Players made the wrong decisions and no amount of planning in training sessions can accommodate eradicating them.
“We also lacked cohesion and our passing at times was terrible."
