With ten games gone, Salford are starting to live up to their pre-season billing as title contenders.
But the Ammies’ boss insisted that whilst it was good his side were picking up points, they aren’t playing at full capacity and they can still improve.
“I think we were the team that deserved to win the game,” Alexander told the club’s YouTube channel.
“Up to the own goal we were the dominant team and we deserved to go in front and it was important that we followed up Tuesday’s result with another positive result today.
“We’re now seven games unbeaten, third clean sheet on the bounce so it’s been a pleasing week for us.
“There’s a long way to go and we need to strive to improve in everything we do. We need to take what we do during the week into the games.
“I know we’re not a finished article and we’re still not at throttle to what we can achieve and what we can produce."
He added, “It’s important that we’re winning games and picking up points as we’re improving and slowly but surely we’re seeing the team grow together and understand what they’re capable of.
“It takes a lot of work on the training pitch from the players and the staff, but they’ll start to see the results on Saturdays.”
