The experienced manager has spoken to the club’s official website about their four-match unbeaten run.
That of course included an end to their winless few months thanks to FA Cup victory at AFC Fylde last Saturday.
What Chesterfield really need though is a first National League three points since they recorded victory over Braintree Town on matchday three all the way back in early August.
Allen says they are edging ever closer to that and he believes the Spireites are no longer seen as the soft touch they once were.
But after taking a trip to the Racecourse to see the Red Dragons’ 2-0 win over Harrogate in the FA Cup on Tuesday he has been full of praise for Sam Ricketts’ side.
They are expected to bring 1,500 fans to Derbyshire with more than 1,200 tickets already sold.
“We worked long hours on the training pitch correcting that and changing our style - now I think that teams don’t like playing against us anymore," he said to their website.
“Wrexham are the best team I have seen this season, they’re the best Wrexham side I have seen for a while.
“I’m after last weekend I’m sure it’s relief for my players, I'm sure there’s happiness for the players.
“After the game in the dressing room there was a great spirit, a great feeling among themselves that they achieved a goal because whatever we all say, the pressure builds up.
“For the players it was a good performance and it was thoroughly deserved because we have played quite well recently.
“Tweaks and changes were needed, they’ve been changed and we have improved.”
