Wembley Wonder Rowe Scores Fylde Trophy Glory!

AFC Fylde claimed a priceless Wembley win over Leyton Orient this afternoon courtesy of a sublime Danny Rowe free-kick.

The National League Player of the Season slammed home the set piece from 25-yards leaving Dean Brill with no chance.

The Coasters were determined to right last week's wrong and controlled large parts of the first-half with Andy Bond missing a glorious chance from point blank range.

National League Champions Orient weren't done yet and grew into the game largely due to the introduction of Jordan Maguire-Drew at the break.

But it was Rowe and Fylde who had the last word - a postage stamp free-kick settled the contest on the hour mark.

Incredibly, the O's were denied by the woodwork on no fewer than three occasions, Joe Widdowson with perhaps their best chance.

It was a disappointing end to their National League stay for Justin Edinburgh's men but for AFC Fylde, it's the perfect tonic to get over their play-off defeat.
