Wells’ Injury News Not What Wood’s Garrard Wanted To Hear

Boreham Wood have received the worst possible news regarding defender Dean Wells.

The summer signing from Stevenage will sit out the rest of the season following the results of a knee scan.

It’s not what manager Luke Garrard wanted to hear with his club in the middle of a promotion battle.

Centre-half Wells has been in great form as the club challenge for a place in the National League’s top seven.

They face Leyton Orient this week but must do without the former Braintree and Hampton player.

“Boreham Wood Football Club are sad to announce that Dean Wells will miss the rest of the season after suffering an injury to his knee,” the Herts club announced.

“The defender was injured in the FA Trophy replay against Dartford, limping off after 50 minutes.

“Wells joined the Wood in the summer of 2017, following three-years with League Two outfit Stevenage.

“Everyone at Boreham Wood Football Club would like to wish Dean all the best during his recovery.”
