Weaver's Delight As Town Go Top After Seven Goal Thriller

Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver says the fight shown by his side meant they deserve to go back to top of the league.

It was just six games ago when Salford City defeated Town that the gap was 11 points now they are ahead of their rivals on goal difference, writes Tom Feaheny.

This was a thrilling game with Town going 4-0 up just before half-time yet with just under half an hour to go it was 4-3.

"It was a brilliant game to watch in the first half an hour, then we concede three, we didn't see that coming, but we held on," Weaver told HTTV.

"There was so much at stake, you could see a few nerves but overall the play at times and the resolve to get the win, showed what we are about.

"We look a stronger outfit at the minute, we had a threat and have shown that all season and need to continue to do so.

"We have strived to get back to top, for it to be 11 points and then us to be top shows there is a lot to be done, it only matters who is top at the end."
