Weaver's Delight As Derby Day Victory Helps Town Promotion Bid

Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver says the way his side defeated York City away from home left him delighted with what he had seen.

Jake Wright and Mark Beck were the two goals scorers, as Town did the double over York City, to remain three points off top spot, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It is a brilliant feeling, it was all set for a big game due to the crowd, in a derby game, we went up a couple of gears when needed," Weaver told HTTV.

"When stakes are high, the players were passionate, everyone was committed, it was a real derby feel to it.

"We scored twice, defended well and with the goals, they were well worked."

Next is a game against Southport at home, Weaver knows the importance of the CNG Stadium stadium for his side.

"It is a game we are looking forward to, being back at home, we know it will be tough but we can get another important win."
