We Needed That! Orient Attitude Praised By Davis

Leyton Orient manager Steve Davis believes the club’s point at high flying Wrexham was all about a shift in attitude.

Davis was thrilled with a 2-2, a game in which struggling Orient twice came from behind to grab a valuable draw.

Defender Mark Ellis pounced to secure a point five minutes from time with a fierce header against Dean Keates’ side.

Orient even fell behind inside 44 seconds but boss Davis was happy with how his sight showed the fighting spirit they will need to turn their season around.

He said: “There’s evidence there that the players have the battling qualities we need to show.

“I was absolutely delighted that we kept at it and kept going, the attitude was great. We battled and we kept going.

“We have done things we haven’t been doing lately and we dug in. The key was our approach and the players didn’t let anyone down..”

Davis added: “With the problems we have had, a lot of people would have expected things to be comfortable after Wrexham went ahead so early on.

“But we didn’t give up. We showed our fans that we can do the dirty side of the game and I’m happy.”
