We Need A Miracle Now Accepts Owers As Torquay Hit The Skids

Gary Owers accepts Torquay United must win every one of their final four games to have any chance of survival.

Last night’s 3-1 home defeat to AFC Fylde left the troubled Gulls with a mountain to climb.

They are eight points from safety and time is fast running out if they are to avoid National League South football next season.

The defeat was a hammer blow to their hopes and now only four wins back-to-back will keep them in the Non-League football’s top flight.

“Their first goal looks offside , but I can't keep blaming officials when our defending is like it was tonight,” Owers said to Devon Live.

“The table doesn't make good reading. We have to win at least four games, and definitely win on Saturday (vs FC Halifax Town), and see where we are then.

“But we are relying on other results, which is not what we want.

“We kept going, and it's important that we do keep going right to the end."

After playing Halifax this Saturday, they then travel to Hartlepool before home games with Guiseley and Ebbsfleet United.
