Watson Says The Result Is What Matters For Silkmen

Macclesfield Town defeated Solihull Moors 1-0 away from home to move to 9th in the Vanarama National League table

Macclesfield Town assistant Steve Watson says while performance wise they know they could have done better, it was all about the three points, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website after the win had been secured he said.

"We had to fight hard, we played a lot better against Woking but it is all about results, good teams when they have a set back bounce back, to come back from a loss with three three points means a lot.

He added: "We have some good players missing who are coming back, the competition for places is starting to come back.

Goalkeeper Shwan Jalal was kept busy during the game and made a penalty save, that helped the win the game, Watson was pleased to see him reacting well.

"I'm delighted for him, he made a mistake last week, it was tough on him, all credit to him, he made some good saves, one on ones and obviously the penalty as well."

They next face AFC Fylde when looking at the game, Watson revealed they are closing in on players returning.

"They are a side who try and play good football, we will wait and see if some of the injured lads will be back then but I think a good weeks training will mean some are available for next Saturday."
