Watson Applauds Heed Fighting Back From Three Down

Gateshead looked to be out of the FA Trophy after being 3-0 down with just over 20 minutes to go but a 90th minute equaliser means they are still in it.

A Danny Johnson double and Richard Peniket scoring with moments to go, got the side a replay which takes place on Tuesday, writes Tom Feaheny.

"If I'd been offered the replay after the hour I would have snatched your hands off!," Watson told the club's website.

"This result showed the belief and spirit in the side, we didn't give up."

Watson admitted his emotions were certainly a lot better at the end of the game compared to just over half-way through it.

"After 60 minutes I was incandescent, we need to start the game better, hopefully this gives us a bit of belief."

Now it is a home tie that they have, as they look to make the semi-finals, Watson had this message.

"We can't wait for Tuesday now, it is a chance to get to the semi-finals, we need to use this result for it."
