Warburton Has The White Tigers On Toast!

Jim Gannon knows he’s got one of the best strikers around after Matty Warburton four-goal performance saw to Truro City.

The in-form National League North title-chasers have their eyes on a double.

The feel good factor continued as Stockport steamrollered the White Tigers 5-0, the game over by half-time.

Gannon says the FA Trophy romp kept their ball rolling - and was also thrilled by the club’s fifth clean sheet in a row.

“It was a scintillating display from Matty Warburton, he was outstanding,” Gannon told the club’s YouTube channel.

“What pleased me most about his performance is how he combining with the other forward players, he’s playing with such confidence.

“When he first came in I didn’t think we could improve him too much, it’s just about mentoring him really. He worked really hard and I’m so pleased for him.”

Gannon says things can get even better for the fans.

“Our movement and passing was excellent, credit to the players because we’re playing well but we’re always looking to improve,” he said.

“We always want to get better and we’ll keep striving to do that. We played on the front foot and we mixed up our performance.”
