Aldershot are set for a busy week which will see them play two matches and in-between that be part of a training camp, writes Tom Feaheny.
Speaking to the club's website, manager Gary Waddock explained the importance of training somewhere different for a few days.
"It is good to keep the group together, directly after the Totton game we will travel to Bath. I want to thank the club for letting us do that, the change will do us good, we will have the players 24 hours a day, we can get some work in them as well."
Before that The Shots will play AFC Totton, with their manager Louis Langdown being someone the club knows extremely well, as he leads their team of match analysts. Speaking about his role Waddock says he is a vital member of the team behind the scenes.
"When I came to Aldershot he was one of the first people I called, he has been excellent for us. He has been very important for us behind the scenes, so I look forward to facing his side."
Two trialists were informed they would not be kept on last week, Waddock believes he has to get the balance right when it comes to giving players that trial period with the club.
"There will be possibly one that comes in for the AFC Totton game, we are working very hard behind the scenes."
"We looked at a few, we have to mindful of the fact our players need game time during pre-season, that is important but we need to look at players that play in positions that we need to strengthen."
