The 37-year-old scored a spectacular bicycle kick in the Wood's 4-1 win over Solihull Moors - see match highlights here.
It was the away side, though, who went ahead in the 32nd minute as Fiacre Kelleher found the net but Boreham quickly equalised through Jamie Turley.
Bruno Andrade put the hosts in front five minutes before half-time and there was still time for Benson to roll back the years with a stunning acrobatic effort.
Angelo Balanta put the game beyond doubt in the second half to take Boreham's point tally to five.
"I think it took going a goal down to get us going," said Benson.
"The way we came back into the game after conceding, in the last 15 minutes of the first-half I thought we were brilliant.
"The way we moved the ball after we equalised was really good. We played with a tempo and we looked like we had too much for them, that's the frustrating thing is that we didn't start off like that."
The former Dagenham and Redbridge and Luton Town striker has started the Wood's first three games and is hoping to contribute more. He added: "I was just on my toes and ready if anything came. As its dropped over I just thought I'd swing a leg at it and luckily I caught it nicely. It's nice to score and get the win.
"I'm feeling good. We're looked after well here. We're not pushed too hard in training but we do enough to give us a platform to go out and play. Hopefully I can keep fit and make myself available for selection, that's my main aim to be ready to be called upon if needed."
