Vermiglio To Keep Things In Perspective As Chorley Beaten

Chorley may have finally surrendered their unbeaten start to the season but there’s not a more measured man around than Jamie Vermiglio.

The Magpies manager wants the National League North leaders’ 1-0 loss at Bradford Park Avenue to be kept in perspective.

They still have a four-point advantage and a game in hand but the Chorley boss is happy his side have the chance to pick themselves up right away.

His side play Stockport County in midweek and they now want another great unbeaten run to start.

“We were always going to be beaten at some point - the season was never going to be won and lost by what happened this afternoon,” he said on the club’s twitter account.

“Do they need roasting? Do they need a kick up the backside? I don’t think they do.

“They need galvanising and to get ready for Tuesday night.

“We’re still top of the league. If you would have given us this opportunity at the start of the season anyone would have taken it.”

Vermiglio says there’s a lot to look forward to.

“Yes it’s disappointing to lose for the first time but I’m also still very excited,” he added.

“I think it’s good that we have a game so soon. It gives us the perfect opportunity to move on from this as quickly as we can.”
