Vermiglio Thankful To Football Family After Personal Trauma

When times are hard, football has a funny way of making everyone rally around.

Chorley manager Jamie Vermiglio knows that more than anyone just at the moment.

He has suffered great trauma in the past few weeks after the tragic death of his uncle while on a trip to Ghana.

Wayne Robinson, 54, died after getting into difficulty while swimming in west Africa.

Fans learned of the awful news and with the family in need of support, they did all they could to raise money to flying much loved Wayne home so he could be laid to rest in the UK.

Vermiglio has spoke to the Lancashire Post and says he has been moved by the kind words and financial help he has received.

“A real big thank you to everyone who has supported us,” he said.

“Be that verbally, by text, over social media or through donations. It has really helped and it has helped all our family.

“I really appreciate it and it just shows that we are a Magpie family.”
