The Harriers start their season as they ended with a match against Chorley as they look to gain an element of revenge and more crucially three points as well, writes Tom Feaheny.
McQuilkin believes that the matches they have had has prepared them as they get ready to fight for promotion back to the Vanarama National League.
"We have built up nicely to the start of the season, we have had some difficult games but we know that will be the case when the campaign gets underway.
"You want to be as fit as you can, these matches have pushed us and makes sure that we are ready for Chorley at the start of the season.
While there has been a lot of change for the National League North squad with players leaving and joining the club, McQuilkin says the transfers that have been done have impressed him.
"The recruitment has been good, we have got players in who play our style of football, so they have fitted in really well and it makes the transition that bit more comfortable."
