Unibet's Vanarama National League Matchday 5 Preview

By Sam Elliott

It’s a four-day National League weekend - so who will be seeing double with a six-point Bank Holiday return?

It all starts on Friday night and ends with a Monday tea-team live BT Sport game as the leaders kick us off and also bring the curtain down.

Unibet take a look at part one of the bumper few days here with our three games to watch.

Chesterfield vs Barnet

Things are pretty good in north London right now - and we don’t just mean Arsenal and Tottenham!

Barnet are off to a blistering start thanks to their ten-point return from their first four games. Instead of looking over their shoulders at the bottom three, they are now seeing the entire division sitting beneath them!

But Dean Brennan knows things are about to get very tricky.

Chesterfield may have blown a big advantage at Notts County last week but they will be taking Barnet’s top spot if they win this one on Friday night.

Unibet Enhanced Odds: Both teams to score - total goals over 2.5

FC Halifax vs Notts County

When you really need to get your season up and running, a visit from Notts County and electric striker Macaulay Langstaff isn’t what you really want.

Forget taking time to settle, the new arrival has four goals already and he was almost single-handedly responsible for the comeback against Chesterfield.

But Halifax have hope - Luke Williams’ team may be undefeated but they haven’t won since the opening day.

Problem is, the Shaymen haven’t won at all. They haven’t even registered a goal in their four games so far as life after Pete Wild gets off to a slow start.

Being bottom of the fledgling table will be forgotten about if they can put that right this weekend.

Unibet Enhanced Odds: Game to be level at half-time and full-time

Solihull Moors vs Dorking Wanderers

When two of the division’s early entertainers meet, big stuff is expected.

Moors had a meltdown on Saturday at Scunthorpe - but then turned the blow torch on the Iron, recovering from 3-0 down to win 4-3.

They have already scored ten goals and remain unbeaten but so far at home they’ve not hit the heights.

Draws despite being ahead against Southend United and York City left manager Neal Ardley wondering ‘what if’.

Dorking know how to thrill too and they have already proved they aren’t going to be out of place in their first ever season at Step 1.

They have also hit ten goals and secured two wins, seeing off Gateshead and Maidstone United the week before.

Full of confidence and nobody’s fools, the new kids on the block are loving life at the top table and would like nothing more than to take their first big scalp.

What a weekend we’ve got ahead!
