Unibet's Vanarama National League Matchday 43 Preview

By Sam Elliott

It’s the debate that is raging and there’s not much getting away from it - is this the greatest title race there’s ever been?

We’re not talking just the National League here. Two teams, 100 points and a rivalry that will surely go down in history for those who love the level.

It’s more than massive but it’s not just about Wrexham vs Notts County, as Unibet tell us in their preview to the second Easter instalment with our big game preview to come.

All your odds across the Vanarama National League are available at Unibet. 18+ begambleaware.org

Woking vs Southend United

Show of hands, who ruled Southend United out last week after seven harrowing straight defeats?

Back-to-back wins has them back up into ninth and a win here could see them close the gap back up to two points.

That said, it’s a tall order against a club desperate to get their hands on third place - and home play-off semi-final advantage.

Seven points from a possible nine has Darren Sarll’s Woking in charge of their one destiny and as everyone focuses on the top two, they’re happy just to go about their business undisturbed.

Bromley vs Boreham Wood

If nothing else this weekend, the play-off cat has been thrown amongst the pigeons and the claws are out!

Boreham Wood and Eastleigh’s Good Friday surrender has let others in - and Bromley, although they couldn’t win at Barnet, are one of the ones really to pounce.

Wood didn’t really get going in the live game against Dagenham but are a lot better away, winning three of their last four.

Luke Garrard says it’s “just another game” but knows defeat will see doubt creep in, even though they won’t lose their top seven spot on Monday whatever happens.

Andy Woodman has an “excellent side” according to his counterpart but the Ravens have only one two of their last eight home matches.

Yeovil Town vs Dorking Wanderers

If Yeovil Town are serious about staying up, we’ll know about it by 5pm on Monday.

If they fail to beat Dorking Wanderers - another side battling to keep their heads above water - then the jaws of the National League South will start to open wide.

They’ll surely be swallowed whole if they don’t end their seven game wait for a win.

With three of their last four games away from home - including a trip to Wrexham - then they’ll be left needing a miracle if it’s not three points here.

Dorking know a win just about does it.

The club haven’t had the season they maybe dreamed of, but staying in the division with some many big, full-time teams below them would represent a solid first year.

But Marc White knows they’re not there yet.

His team have a six point cushion but they will be wary of Torquay United’s form and the need for at least a few more points.

And the last thing they want to do is to spark a Glovers recovery, too.

What a big Bank Holiday Monday we’ve got in store!
