Unibet's Vanarama National League Matchday 10 Preview

By Sam Elliott

The teams up at the top of the National League have gone from one extreme to another in recent weeks.

The top five were looking formidable as they all won back-to-back games to keep each other firmly on their toes.

Then last weekend not one of the top ten won. Struggling to keep up? Well it’s sure to be yet another unpredictable season, so here’s this weekend’s games to keep an eye on.

All your odds across the Vanarama National League are available at Unibet. 18+ begambleaware.org

Woking vs Solihull Moors

Fans of Woking wish they could play at home every week.

Only Wrexham have escaped the Laithwaite’s with anything to show for their time so far this season, even if the Cards haven’t hit the heights away.

This one is even more interesting thanks to Solihull Moors winning all-but one of the games on their travels.

Neal Ardley’s team are third and have scored an incredible 12 goals in their four away matches so far this season. It’s tough to call a winner.

York City vs Notts County

We all know all good things must come to an end but Luke Williams is demanding an instant response.

Notts’ first loss of the new campaign at Dorking Wanderers last time out was a missed opportunity. A win there would have seen them hit top spot.

Now they face another tricky test on the road and he says there’s only one way to react to their great run was halted - and that’s by starting another.

John Askey knows his side should have made it three wins from three but we’re denied at the death at Scunthorpe United last Saturday.

More than 1,600 Magpies fans will travel - and much improved York won’t lie down after an 11-point return from a possible 15.

Maidstone United vs Chesterfield

You already get the feeling every single point is going to count this season.

So by twice coming back to pinch a point at Yeovil last time out will please Chesterfield fans even if their overall performance was far from pitch perfect in Somerset.

They’re at least showing this season that when the chips are down they won’t be beaten - so how long can the division’s final undefeated record continue?

Part of that depends on which Maidstone United turn up at the Gallagher Stadium on Saturday.

The one who fell very short against Bromley and Gateshead in recent weeks.

Or the Stones side who swept aside Aldershot Town and Torquay United just before those bad days at the office.

The leaders have drawn three of their five away matches so far, but have won at Oldham and Altrincham.

They knew they’ve got to keep winning with the chasing back’s breath of the back of their neck getting warmer and warmer.

It’s sure to be another action-packed and unpredictable weekend!
