Unibet's National League North And South Preview

By Sam Elliott

One title race may be done and dusted but the other bubbles away beautifully.

If that’s not enough, the play-off battles and fight to avoid the drop in both the National League South and North are still too close to call.

As we enter the home straight, Unibet keep a close eye on some of the games that really matter.

Boston United vs AFC Fylde - National League North

The title race is suddenly cooking again - and it’s all down to AFC Fylde’s fiery late season implosion.

That and King’s Lynn Town’s second wind, but that would have counted for nothing if the Coasters could have kept their cool.

Defeats to Blyth Spartans, Spennymoor and Kidderminster in their last four matches have rocked Adam Murray’s men at a time many were predicting they could have things wrapped up. They are now a point behind, but do have a game in hand.

Murray is back at Boston United, who are much better these days. A lot of that is down to the division’s Player of the Month Billy Chadwick, who has scored eight goals since the final day of February.

Worthing vs Braintree Town - National League South

OK, so the title race has been over since, well, February really. But don’t take your eyes off the play-off chase for a second.

Two teams embedded in the top seven drama meet and Worthing and Braintree both know what a win here does for their chances.

The Rebels occupy the final place currently - problem is, the four teams below them are just a win away from taking it off them.

The Iron have a five point head start over lurking Eastbourne, Havant & Waterlooville, Farnborough and Tonbridge but they know often one team tumbles.

It can happen to anyone if they get distracted, even a side who have just beaten the champions.

Braintree’s Bank Holiday Monday success over Ebbsfleet United solidifies their place in the promotion pack but there’s still work to do.

Incredibly, Worthing’s last six home matches have seen 35 goals fly in.

Seven of those came on Good Friday when they smashed Concord Rangers but fans will be hoping they’ve not used them all up!

It’s going to be another action packed weekend!
