Unibet's National League North And South Preview

By Sam Elliott

You just can’t beat a first vs second clash as the season begins to reach boiling point and there’s a lip-smacker on the way this weekend.

Just goal difference keeps King’s Lynn Town ahead of AFC Fylde in the National League North, while in the South it’s all a little different - Ebbsfleet United’s advantage is a colossal nine points.

We’ve got another great weekend ahead and here’s what betting partner Unibet makes of it all.

Dartford vs Oxford City - National League South

Both these two are eyeing up promotion, but if it’s to be automatic they need a big gust to take the wind out of Ebbsfleet’s sails.

The Darts have enjoyed a strong year and have thrashed the table toppers twice but are lagging behind, even if they do sit confidently in second.

With nearly double figure points to make up, they need to do what no side has done in nine matches - defeat Oxford City.

They’ve not lost away from home since November and have taken 16 points from a possible 18. They look real contenders this year, even if it will probably be via the play-offs.

AFC Fylde vs King’s Lynn Town - National League North

You can slip a cigarette paper between these two which means this meeting is growing in importance by the minute.

King’s Lynn Town hit the front on Tuesday night, their brave and battling win at Banbury United was met by a pleasant surprise once they got back to the dressing room.

They learned they were top again after the Coasters came a cropper at home to Hereford and by doing so added extra spice to Saturday’s game.

Flyde will know Lynn are better at home than they are away, winning six fewer times on their travels but they’re a real danger again.

So is striker Gold Omotayo with three goals in three games - and loan signing Aaron Cosgrave.

Tuesday was Fylde’s first defeat since Boxing Day, a run that transformed a season which looked to be top seven at best when Adam Murray came in.

But they are stronger away from home in recent months and with their next three fixtures against bottom half clubs, the fans know how vital victory on Saturday could prove to be.

It’s going to be another eye-catching weekend!
