Unibet's National League North And South Preview

By Sam Elliott

We have some serious title races brewing and just as it really starts to get cold, the temperature is sure to be cranked up on Saturday.

In the National League North, three points separate the top four sides - and the teams below are finding some form, too.

National League South table toppers Ebbsfleet United lead on goal difference from Havant & Waterlooville, with Dartford just a point behind. So what’s in store on Saturday? Unibet guide us through it.

Blyth Spartans vs Brackley Town

After a number of seasons full of oh-so-nears, is 2023 the year Brackley Town burst through?

Six wins from seven represents a fine start to life in the dug-out for Roger Johnson. Defeat in the FA Trophy to Braintree Town won’t derail them too much.

The Saints could push five points ahead on Saturday with King’s Lynn Town on FA Cup duty.

But they face a different Blyth Spartans side to last year. In the drop zone maybe, but three wins from four underlines their improvement.

Tonbridge vs Havant & Waterlooville

It’s been a while coming, but Havant & Waterlooville finally have the scent of top spot in their nostrils.

A win in Kent will fire Paul Doswell’s team to the summit.

Dartford, at home to Concord Rangers, are ready to pounce on any mistakes and take advantage of Ebbsfleet United’s inactivity.

Havant decided this week that the chance to add more to their midfield was too good to turn down.

National League South Player of the Month Charlie Ruff moves from Chelmsford City and now the focus switches - and some will feel there’s more pressure to perform.

Three league wins in a row has seen the Hampshire side look towards the top.

But Tonbridge are a different prospect this season and under Jay Saunders they are only three points from the play-offs. They even beat Ebbsfleet in the FA Trophy last weekend.

Four wins from six at Longmead has kept the team in touch and there is no sign of a struggle this time around.

It’s going to be another eye-catching weekend!
