King’s Lynn Town vs Brackley Town - National League North
Tommy Widdrington knew he needed some players who will play their heart out for him after relegation last year.
The King’s Lynn Town manager handed son Theo a deal - but there’s no favours here, the midfield man is already producing and has had a big say in both their wins so far. The Linnets bettered Bradford PA on the opening day before Widdrington Jr put the seal on Saturday’s success over Blyth Spartans.
Brackley Town were second best at Chester at the weekend after starting with a solid three points against Scarborough Athletic.
After their second-placed finish last term, Kevin Wilkin has added seven new faces and knows it will take time for things to come together.
One to watch: Gold Omotayo (King’s Lynn Town)

Dartford vs Havant & Waterlooville - National League South
Both the bosses have a National League South promotion on their CVs.
And we’ve already seen enough evidence to suggest they could be rivals for another in the eight months ahead.
An impressive summer of recruitment by Paul Doswell - including the capture of striker Danny Wright and free scoring champion Jason Prior - saw their odds slashed.
Early days, but they’ve looked the part so far. Shaking off the 19th minute dismissal of Prior to hold firm at Braintree, taking a point home that was quite nearly three.
Both of these clubs started with a win on the opening day and Alan Dowson’s Darts following their triumph at Bath City by edging out Cheshunt at Princes Park.
Pierre Fonkeu followed up his goal in Somerset with both at the weekend.
Dartford have only lost twice at home since February 2021 and their new manager isn’t keen to drop many points in front of their fans.
Havant’s only defeat on the road in the past six month came at title winners Maidstone United so expect this to be a blood and thunder early season meeting.
It should be an eye-catching evening of matches!
