Kidderminster Harriers vs Leamington - National League North

With no fewer than nine clubs tasting victory on the opening weekend, it’s no big surprise that two of them collide on game day two.

But even if the fledgling table counts for very little, few would have predicted Leamington leading the way - especially as Southport were 5-0 up inside an hour at Boston United!

The Brakes were at their swashbuckling best as they swept aside Farsley Celtic last Saturday. Dan Turner turned on the style with a classy hat-trick.

Kidderminster may not have been quite as lethal but their professional 1-0 win at Blyth Spartans was a confident start. Can Ashley Hemmings and co keep them near the summit from the start?

Dartford vs Cheshunt - National League South

If there is one set of fans who won’t get anywhere near over-excited by a start it’s Dartford’s.

They spent most of the first five months of last season sitting pretty at the top, after all.

Things crumbled after Christmas and they couldn’t recover to win promotion as manager Steve King was dismissed.

Under Alan Dowson they begun strongly, dispatching of Bath City on the Romans’ own turf on a tricky opening day assignment.

Next up it’s a game against a new arrival, but one currently on cloud nine.

Dowson and Craig Edwards enjoyed plenty of battles in both managers’ Ryman League days and they will cross swords again in Kent.

Cheshunt made a splash by coming back from the dead to wound the Darts boss’ old club Hampton & RB last weekend.

It seemed all over when they went 2-0 down but they showed they will be no pushovers at this level with a brutal response.

Both teams won’t be lacking in confidence after their first game heroics and there’s plenty of match winners on show.

It should be another eye-catching weekend!
