By Sam Elliott

There’s no other way to put it - we’ve got some huge games heading your way in the National League North and South on Saturday.

The teams at the top do both have an advantage, but they also know they need another strong showing this weekend.

March is always the beginning of the business end of season so sit back and whet the appetite for what’s in store as the promotion battle rages.

Dartford vs Dorking Wanderers - National League South

After passing one title test with flying colours last week, now there’s another for league leaders Dorking Wanderers.

It looked for the first few months that Dartford would be the team to run away with things but since December, another team have really dominated - and they’ll get a close look at them in the next few days.

Steve King’s team can’t be discounted, but the gap simply cannot increase to 13 points on Saturday.

Dorking has actually lost more than the Darts this season but if they leave Princes Park victorious it would take a brave person to back against them.

Gateshead vs Kidderminster - National League North

There’s absolutely no doubting where the game of the weekend comes from in the National League North.

Table-topping Gateshead want to stretch their legs at the top - and they know they could cut Kidderminster adrift in the title race in the process.

The Heed’s lead is four points but manager Mike Williamson won’t need reminding that second place Brackley Town boast two games in hand. It’s sure to be tight for quite some time.

Third-place Harriers had a spanner thrown in their works at formless Farsley Celtic last weekend, but their fans will start believing again if they leave North East with three points.

Problem is for Russ Penn and his team is that not many sides manage that.

Only two clubs have escaped the International Stadium with anything at all to show for their visit - AFC Fylde and Chorley.

Gateshead have won their last three in front of their own fans and they’ll start thinking their charge at the top is looking more than a little promising if they grab a fourth.

It is sure to be another fantastic weekend!
