Uchechi already has a sound background within the English game, although he has just completed four seasons competing in the Sweden league with AFC United and Dalkurd.
Nigerian born Uchechi moved to England in 2002. He was picked up by Charlton Athletic and went on to score 13 goals in the under-18 team.
West Ham United then came calling after his impressive performances earned him a contract with the Hammers.
Following his release from West Ham, Uchechi returned to his homeland and signed for FC Dender.
In 2011 he returned to the UK and had spells with Leicester City, Aberdeen and Sheffield Wednesday.
In 2012 Uchechi signed for AFC United in Sweden on a two-year deal.
Despite being offered improved terms, Uchehci then signed for Dalkurd also in Sweden in 2014 on a two-year deal.
Following the expiration of that contract, he returned to England and, after impressing against Brentford, Reading and Peterborough, has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the Wood.
After getting his latest target signed, Wood manager Luke Garrard said: “Daniel trained with us at the back end of last season but I wasn’t in a position to do anything. I knew then he was a good player but I needed to be sure that what I’d seen on the training pitch, would be translated into matches. After three games against good opposition I’ve seen enough and I’m delighted that Daniel is joining us and he brings versatility and strength to an ever improving squad”.
