Two Weeks To Go! Today's Pre-Season Friendly Preview

There’s two weeks to go and the fine tuning continues at pace. There’s plenty of action this weekend involving the Vanarama National League clubs so here’s a run down of the best pre-season action.

Torquay United take on their old rivals Weymouth at the Wessex Stadium as Gulls manager Kevin Nicholson surveys his squad.

His new striker James Gray is looking forward to it and hopes to get back on the scoresheet.

“We’ve been slowly building game-by-game and there’s signs there that have really encouraged me,” said the summer signing.

“Weymouth is very important to our preparation and we want to keep ticking the games off and hopefully get back to winning ways.”

There’s a big local game as Stockport County play Macclesfield Town at Edgeley Park.

Kidderminster Harriers take on what they hope will be a strong Burnley side with the Premier League team travelling to Aggborough.

Wrexham’s Dean Keates says the trip to Nantwich is important to his players. Guiseley welcome Doncaster Rovers while a young West Ham side stay local at Dagenham & Redbridge.

Ebbsfleet United play host to EFL League One club Southend United while Chester have a visit from a team in the same league and they have Walsall this weekend.

Aldershot face Wycombe Wanderers at the EBB and AFC Telford United have Southern League title favourites Hereford to worry about.

Braintree Town, a club who are now managed by club legend Bradley Quinton, at home to Colchester United.

Barrow manager Paul Cox will be giving trialists time against Nottingham Forest U23. Staines Town are hosting Hungerford Town of the South, while Dartford who are aiming for promotion under Tony Burman, must be at their best against Cambridge United.

It’s a big local affair as Boston United and Grimsby Town meet at York Street.

Manager Adam Murray said: “It’s the type of game we want. This is a big test to see what shape we’re in.”

Chelmsford City
take their pre-season programme to Thurrock while Tamworth manager Andy Morrell described their game with Solihull Moors as “crucial” ahead of the new season in two weeks time.

Salford City
play Blackpool hoping to continue their encouraging start to pre-season.

Weston-Super-Mare welcome Cheltenham Town while Marine face a trip from Southport.

Nuneaton
play a Leicester City side, Whitehawk meet Charlton Athletic and Havant & Waterlooville are at home again, this time to Sutton United.
