TV Stagefright Worries The Spitfires Manager

Richard Hill accused his side of playing “fear football” in the second half at Wrexham as Eastleigh let their lead slip to return home defeated.

It’s now only one win since August 19 for the Spitfires who allowed the Red Dragons back in it to secure a 2-1 win in last night’s BT Sport live game.

It’s back to back away losses now for Eastleigh after winning at Hartlepool at the end of September and their manager says his players went into their shells.

“We can certainly grab defeat from the jaws of victory,” said Hill following the game in north Wales.

“I said to them at half time just relax but we played fear football in the second half and it has cost us the chance of taking something from the game.

“We made silly decisions but it’s indicative of where we are at the moment,” he said.

“We are fantastic on the training ground but we can’t take it out onto a big pitch. It’s not much of a consolation for the fans but it’s the case. Other than making the pitch smaller there’s not too much we can do to change that!

“All we can do is get back into training on Monday and dust ourselves down and go again.”
