Tuesday Nights Under The Lights Return Again!

By Sam Elliott

You wait three-and-a-half months for a National League match and then three come along inside ten days!

Welcome to game day three, your first midweek programme of the new campaign. There’s plenty of eye catching games coming your way.

Two of the promotion contenders are coming together tonight and they’ve both recovered from a difficult opening day.

Barnet are at home for the first time while Forest Green take to the road again with the New Lawn pitch renovations almost complete.

Gateshead have had a great start results-wise but must contemplate many months without key midfielder Greg Olley.

They are at FC Halifax Town, who play a third home game already and need to take advantage of it while York City are back in front of their fans - Rochdale come to town.

Oldham Athletic have quietly made a good start after a less than loud summer this time. They need to keep five goal Nick Haughton quiet as AFC Fylde head to Boundary Park.

Sutton United sent out a reminder to everyone on Saturday as the blitzed Altricnham and now head to Wealdstone for a London derby.

Woking need to get themselves going, they play host to Dagenham & Redbridge and Hartlepool United’s defensively sound start will face an examination from Tamworth.

It’s two draws so far for Southend United but two heavy defeats for Boston United - a win gets either clubs’ season going.

Yeovil Town have lift off and want to build on their Braintree Town win by defeating Ebbsfleet, who have lost their first two.

So have Maidenhead United but you never question an Alan Devonshire side. Can they get up and running at home to an Altrincham side who need a reaction.

Braintree are also pointless after two games and they want to put that right at home to Aldershot Town.

Eastleigh are looking powerful and after Solihull Moors put a poor opening to one side on Saturday it should be a cracker at the Silverlake.

Tonight's National League fixtures:
Barnet v Forest Green Rovers
Braintree Town v Aldershot Town
Eastleigh v Solihull Moors

Maidenhead U v Altrincham
Oldham Athletic v AFC Fylde
