Tuesday Night's National League North And South Preview

By Tom Scott

After all the madness of the FA Cup, we’re back to league action this evening with six games across the National League North and South.

After Chorley led the way for so long, we could have our second new leader of the National League North in under a week if Chester can overcome York City.

The Blues suffered a surprised defeat at the hands of Altrincham at the weekend, ending their superb run of 11 games without defeat.

Gary Johnson has been working wonders at Torquay United and the Gulls could leapfrog their opponents St Albans City into the play-off places if they can win tonight.

The Saints have lost their momentum recently with two defeats on the bounce and will be looking for a response in what could be a crucial game.

Southport will need to be focused ahead of their trip to Hereford. Their FA Cup heroics could be an easy distraction in a game the Bulls will be desperate to win to end their barren spell.

With one defeat in seven games, Hemel Hempstead are putting together a decent run of form.

Wealdstone
are in town to face the Tudors, with both sides knowing a win could put them within touching distance of leaders Billericay.

A mid-table clash between Concord Rangers and Eastbourne Borough will be a hotly contested affair.

Just two points separate fourth to 14th meaning whoever takes the spoils in Essex could end the night much higher up than they started it.

Elsewhere, Oxford City will have to forget their FA Cup drama at the weekend as they face a trip to Dartford, who have been tough to beat at home in recent weeks.

National League North fixtures:

York City v Chester

National League South fixtures:
