Tuesday Night’s League And FA Trophy Preview

By Sam Elliott

There’s still football to be found on Tuesday night as the final games before Christmas are played.

It was supposed to be a big night of action, but three matches fell to the rising Covid cases.

Notts County’s visit to Chesterfield and the game between promotion rivals Grimsby Town and Boreham Wood are to be rearranged in 2022.

Kettering Town against Southport has also fallen.

But we do have one league matches - and one FA Trophy tie.

In the National League North, there’s a six pointer down the bottom as two teams who hoped for so much better cross swords.

AFC Telford sit bottom after a winless run but Guiseley aren’t having a much better time of it.

Losing six of their last seven, the Lions are now two places above the drop zone - it’s a massive game at the New Bucks Head.

There’s one FA Trophy tie to settle too.

After fog on Saturday, FC Halifax Town make the trip to fellow Yorkshire side Bradford PA with the winners facing a trip to Alfreton Town.
