Tuesday Night Preview: Vanarama National League

By David Richardson

There's no rest for the wicked and there's a whole load of mouth watering National League football coming up on Tuesday evening!

Dover Athletic became the latest side to top the division and Chris Kinnear spoke of how proud he was of his players having had to rebuild his squad in the summer. The Whites host eight-placed Boreham Wood, who returned to winning ways with a victory over Leyton Orient in front of a record crowd at Meadow Park.

Orient, in fourth, will be visited by sixth-placed FC Halifax Town at Brisbane Road with the away side yet to lose on the road.

Dagenham and Redbridge slipped off top spot at the expense of Dover following their defeat at Hartlepool. Daggers will be paid a visit by injury-hit Sutton United while Pools target a fourth consecutive win at third-placed Wrexham.

Paul Cox heads back to his old side Barrow with Guiseley, fresh from a 0-0 draw against Eastleigh in his first game in charge last Saturday. The Spitfires have drawn their last four and are unbeaten in five as Maidstone United come to town.

Torquay United earned a good point at home to Wrexham on the weekend and head to Bromley, who are winless in their last four.

Remarkably, Ebbsfleet United drew their eighth game of the season away at Chester to remain unbeaten, albeit to the frustration of manager Daryl McMahon. Fleet host depleted Aldershot Town with the Blues, under interim manager Tom Shaw, travel to Gateshead.

Tranmere Rovers earned a valuable three points at Prenton Park thanks to James Norwood's 90th minute goal, now they head south to Maidenhead United.

Anthony Limbrick's Woking fell to defeat at Maidstone, ending their two-game winning streak, and will be paid a visit by Solihull Moors. Macclesfield Town saw-off Solihull, they take on AFC Fylde.
