The White Tigers played over 70 minutes a man down after Cody Cooke was shown red.
Rhys Tyler's own-goal before half-time was enough for Lee Hodges side as both teams finished with ten men when Jordan Parkes was sent off late on.
“It was a bit of a crazy game,” said Hodges. “It was by no means a dirty game but there were two red cards and a number of bookings.
“We didn’t start the game particularly well and then it was disappointing to lose Cody in the manner that we did, but the lads put in a big performance after that.
“We had to be organised, keep our shape and work extremely hard, which we did. The build-up to our goal was fantastic and although it went in off their lad, Rocky was waiting to put it in after we carved them open.
“We had to dig-in and work hard after that. Everyone played their part; we had to roll our sleeves up to get the result.”
Truro head to second-placed Braintree on Tuesday night, a massive game at the top of the National League South. Hodges added: “It’s so tight up there but it’s great to be in the mix. Our focus turns now to the next game and the challenge that we face at Braintree.
“We’ll go there full of confidence; this was always going to be a tough week with three tricky away games. The full squad is going to be needed but those boys are giving me everything.”
