Trio of New Beavers

By Steve Whitney

Alan Dowson, manager of Vanarama National League South newcomers Hampton & Richmond Borough, has been busy and he signed up some more talent to be part of the squad.

The first new signing is 30-year-old midfielder Nathan Collier.

Collier left Hampton in July 2012 to join Dartford before moving on to Eastbourne Borough in May last year.

Collier doesn't really need much introduction to long-serving fans but in his time away, he has developed into a versatile player who can play in many positions across the field, but is best in midfield.

The second new signing is 24-year-old defender Callum McNaughton.

McNaughton made his debut for West Ham United in 2012 in the Capital One Cup against Aldershot Town and was promptly sent-off!

After leaving the Hammers, he moved on to play for AFC Wimbledon later that year before signing for Dowson at Kingstonian in 2013.

He moved permanently to Bishop's Stortford in June of that year, and also spent time at Welling United and Maldon & Tiptree during 2014 before joining Bromley and then Dartford - leaving the Darts at the end of last season.

The final signing is 31-year-old defender Jay Gasson.

Gasson (pictured) left relegated Basingstoke Town in the summer after spending six seasons at the Camrose, making over 250 appearances.

He joined them from Havant & Waterlooville back in 2010 after he left Woking to go to Brighton University.

Previously he also turned out for Farnborough, Corinthian-Casuals, Whyteleafe and Croydon Athletic.
