Travers Leaves Hartlepool To Move Stateside

Young forward Liam Travers has had his contract with Hartlepool United cancelled by mutual consent.

The 19-year-old has been released after four years on the books at Victoria Park in order to chase up an opportunity to play and study in America.

Travers will fly out to the States later today where he will link-up with Michigan-based semi-professional outfit AFC Ann Arbor before starting at Saginaw Valley State University in August.

“It’s really exciting, I can’t wait,” Travers told the club`s official website. “I would like to thank everyone at Hartlepool United for the last four years.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here and wish the club all the best for the future”.
