The 25-year-old was born in Ivory Coast and represented his country at under-20 level.
He began his career in France, playing for Le Havre before, in 2014, making the move across the English Channel and signing for SkyBet League One side Notts County.
Traoré spent a season at Meadow Lane before moving to fellow League One outfit Swindon Town in the summer of 2015.
After a year at the County Ground, Traoré teamed up with Forest Green Rovers and played a big part in helping the Gloucestershire club to promotion out of the National League last season with his combative midfield play.
This season, he has played twenty-six times for Mark Cooper’s team before his release from The New Lawn earlier this week.
Rovers manager Micky Mellon said: "I’m really pleased to add Drissa to the group.
“He will offer us good quality in the midfield and has experience of promotion out of this division from last season, which again will help us at this important time of the season.
“With injuries and suspensions, it is important to have all bases covered and Drissa will be an important addition to the squad and I’m looking forward to working with him”.
