Town Move for Middleton

Harrogate Town have confirmed the addition of two defenders to the squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Joining from North Ferriby United is centre-back Ben Middleton, while Adam Porritt, who was with us on loan from Huddersfield at the end of last season, will also join up with Simon Weaver’s men.

Twenty-two-year-old Middleton made forty appearances for North Ferriby in the National League last season after signing from Scarborough Athletic in 2015.

Town’s new recruit had previously spent two years at the Seadogs where he amassed seventy-four appearances following a spell with York City.

Middleton (pictured) spent time in the youth systems of both Hull City and Doncaster Rovers and was a member of Ferriby’s 2015/16 promotion winning squad.

Meanwhile, full-back Porritt, who made two appearances for Harrogate during the last month of last season, including a stand-out performance keeping a clean sheet at AFC Telford United on the final day.

The young defender had been at Huddersfield Town since the age of 13 and spent a brief loan spell at Lincoln City during that time.

Porritt also featured for Town under-21’s last season, namely at St George’s Park during a 2-1 win over Nike Academy, and has done enough to earn a place in Town’s 2017/18 squad.
