The Gulls have played four away games in a row, picking up seven points along the way to remain in the survival fight.
Torquay are still seven points adrift of safety but will be full of confidence ahead of Easter Monday’s big game against out of sorts Woking.
“We got the job done, that was the most important thing,” boss Gary Owers told the club’s Twitter page.
“The game was sloppy at times. There wasn’t a great amount of quality on display but I was relieved when we got the second goal and their keeper has made a couple of really good saves as well.
“We couldn’t do any more than that and now we’ve got to take that into Monday’s game against Woking.
“The lads are really digging in. We’ve had four away games in a row so to come out of that with two wins and a draw is good going.”
