Torquay Hope To Be TV Gold As Netflix Feature Devon Club

Torquay United are about to hit Netflix - but the club’s supporters may not love the show’s title!

The Gulls will get some fantastic exposure when a documentary on the club makes its way onto the small screen next month.

Devon Live have learned that their Great Escape of 1987 will feature in an eight-part series.

The only problem for fans of the National League South club comes from the fact the production will be called ‘Losers’!

The Gulls famously avoided relegation from the Football League 32 years ago in dramatic circumstances.

Paul Dobson scored an injury-time equaliser on an incredible last day which was also remembered for the moment a police dog bit defender Jim McNichol!

Torquay have been anything but losers this season.

Gary Johnson’s side are battling for the title and only on Tuesday did challengers Woking manage to leapfrog them into first place.

They look to return to the top on Saturday when they face Dulwich Hamlet at Plainmoor as Woking go to Dartford.
