Torquay Announce A Re-jig As Changes Made At Plainmoor

Torquay United have outlined their restructuring plans a few weeks into the new season.

The National League South Gulls hope the move will add more stability to the club going forward.

Shaun Taylor is United’s new assistant manager, returning to the role he had under Martin Ling.

Gary Owers remains as first team manager as Dave Hedges becomes the new head of youth in Torquay’s Football Development programme.

“This represents an exciting step forward for Torquay United in our aim to establish a solid structure to everything we do in the football department,” said Owers on the club’s official website.

“I am under no illusions that my major priority is to bring success to our first-team and achieve the results we all want.

“But a significant factor in reaching this goal is to develop a football structure at Torquay United that can work for all age groups.

“We will do everything possible to ensure Torquay United is fighting at the top end of the National League South and I am thrilled to have a man of Shaun Taylor’s character and experience by my side for the challenges ahead.”
