Top Scorers: Vanarama National League North

By Sam Elliott

The goals have been flying in all season long in the Vanarama National League North - but there is one club so far not represented in the top scorers list.

After Danny Rowe’s incredible 2016-17, the Golden Boot looks a great race this season three players already into double figures.

However - they may be leading the division but so far no Salford City player has made the list of 18 top scorers.

We’re sure the Ammies strikers will soon have something to say about that but it’s players from Stockport County, Blyth and Tamworth leading the way as you can see.

Title chasing Harrogate Towndo, though, have three players in the pack as they look to blaze a trail.

Simon Ainge, Joe Leesley and Jordan Thewlis have an impressive 25 between them already with Simon Weaver’s team certainly knowing when the net is.

Leading the way with 14 in the league is Stockport forward Jason Oswell, pictured. He told us following the FC United game, a 4-1 win on Saturday, that he is loving every minute of his season.

"I've really enjoyed it here and the lads are great - playing in front of the big crowds really help your game develop," the striker said.

"It was a big game for us after the FA Cup - we're showed a lot of character after what happened last time."

We’ve been updating you throughout the rest of the season as the goal-den boys continue to fill their boots!
