Top Scorers: The Vanarama National League South

By Sam Elliott

The National League South scoring charts reflect the division itself - as close as anything!

With things tight at the top of the table, it’s the same situation in the race for the Golden Boot.

Just two goals separate the top four scorers - and three of those players represent clubs not yet fighting it out at the top.

East Thurrock’s Sam Higgins is leading the way with 17, but there not much chance of 16-goal Dayle Grubb overtaking him - the Weston striker has left for Forest Green Rovers.

Phil Roberts poses a big threat. Braintree are flying near the top and Bradley Quinton’s team are scoring goals.

Oxford City’s Matt Paterson is lurking - and with the club near the bottom of the league they will want him to keep banging in the goals.

There’s a full programme this weekend after last week’s FA Trophy action - will nets continue to bulge?
