Top Scorers: The Vanarama National League North

By Sam Elliott

The Golden Boot race in the National League North now has just two goals in it.

In the final few weeks of the season, things have closed up as the onion bag bursts in a division which never fails to entertain.

Stockport County’s great form will leave few surprised that their strikers are upping the heat on Southport’s Jason Gilchrist.

Jason Oswell now has 24 for the season while his partner in crime Matt Warburton is on 16. The 40-goal partnership carried County to six straight wins before Tuesday’s defeat at Kidderminster.

York’s Jon Parkin is having a quiet spell in front of goal so third place currently belongs to Brackley poacher Aaron Williams.

Here’s the latest standings as the season reaches its climax.
