Tonge`s in at County

The 30-year-old started his career with Barnsley before going on to play more than 160 League games for Rotherham United.

After a two-year spell at Torquay United he joined Chester FC at the start of this season, but left the Deva Stadium last month.

Manager Neil Young said: "Dale is someone we've been tracking for a number of weeks and he brings with him experience and more importantly leadership.

“We've said over the last couple of weeks that we’ll be assessing the squad and this signing is the first part of this process."

The Barnsley-born defender will be available to make his County debut this weekend when the Hatters face Chorley at Edgeley Park.
