It’s great news for the club with the popular winger one of their key players last season.
This time around he has been hampered by problems. After returning from cruciate knee ligament damage - which kept him out from February until October - the former Portsmouth amn cracked his knee cap on his big comeback.
Tollitt hobbled off against Leyton Orient but now looks set to be back before the end of the month. There was also good news about midfielder James Wallace.
Manager Mellon told the club’s website: “The injured lads are getting closer but they won’t be available for selection this weekend.
“James Wallace will go into full contact training with us from Monday onwards and we hope that he gets a slice of good fortune because he certainly deserves it.
“Ben Tollitt is also progressing quickly. I don’t like to put dates on these things, but if all goes well, we’ll be looking at Ben being available from the end of this month.
“Both of those players have been a big loss to us, as well as the likes of Scott Davies and losing Ollie Banks (loan recall).
“But what I will say is that we have other very, very good players here who come into the team and try and keep us moving forward.”
