Barrow’s National League winning captain has agreed a deal to join the Hatters on a three-year deal.
It comes days after the club confirmed James and Connor Jennings will play at Edgeley Park next season - and defender Mark Kitching from Hartlepool United.
Rooney’s arrival is big news for the club and manager Jim Gannon knows what the 29-year-old will bring.
