Tigers Can Compete With The Best Says Boss Richards

Gloucester City boss Marc Richards insists his side can beat anybody in the National League South after they climbed out of the relegation zone.

Ed Williams popped up in injury time for the Tigers as they won 3-2 at in-form Welling United.

The three points moved Gloucester above Poole Town and into 19th but Richards is aware that more results must follow.

They have three difficult away games up next but the Tigers boss reckons his side have proved they can compete with the very best the National League South has to offer.

Richards told Gloucester City TV: “It was nice to have a good performance and the right result to go with it.

“I thought the boys were excellent. They were on the front foot and the work-rate was there.

“If the boys keep putting in performances like that, we know we can beat anybody in this League.

“The atmosphere in the dressing room is so different. You get the right result and it perks everybody up. Hopefully, we can take that into the coming weeks and go on a bit of a run.”
